2009 Holiday Party

On December 5, 2009 the IBM Retirees Club hosted their annual Holiday Party. 

2009 Retirees Holiday Party  Report:

The 2009 IBM Retirees Club Holiday Party was held on December 5, 2009 in the Exhibit Hall at the Mayo Civic Center. 350 people attended (each year the number decreases) and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. The Exhibit Hall was nicely decorated and many people said they appreciated the extra room around the tables and the serving areas.

Canadian Honker catered the event with excellent warm and cold appetizers and desserts.

We thank our friends at Think Bank who once again graciously paid for our event insurance.

Thanks to the Board members for all their help. A special thanks to Joan Buske and Nancy Morrison for their assistance in creating name tags in addition to decorating and other work; to Lynn Knutson and Paulette Steinberg (our treasurers) for their significant effort processing all the reservations and taking care of the money; and to the other Holiday Party Committee members: Al Calavano, Jerry Blaisdell, and Bob Mesarchik for their help with decorating and greeting people. Newsletter Editor Ed Rosencrants was available to talk about the newsletter and other concerns. Finally, thanks to Dick Odell for again being the official photographer.

The next Holiday Party is tentatively scheduled for December 4, 2010. More info later.
