2008 Retirees Holiday Party  Report:

The 2008 IBM Retirees Holiday Party was held on December 6, 2008 in the Exhibition Hall at the Mayo Civic Center. There were 370 people who paid to attend.  The Exhibit Hall was beautifully decorated with table centerpieces done by IBM Retiree Board volunteers and everyone seemed to like the extra room around the tables and the serving areas.   The caterer was Canadian Honker with a great display of warm and cold hors d'oeurves and desserts.

Our friends at Think Bank graciously paid for our event insurance ($300) and we thank them.  They have done this for us in past years (when they were a Credit Union) and have continued to do it even though they are now a Mutual Bank.

Thanks to the Board members for all the help with decorating and elsewhere.  A special thanks to Joan Buske, Shirley Riley, Al Calavano, Lynn Knutson, Paulette Steinberg who did a lot of the extra work in processing the reservations, creating name tags and greeting people.  A very special thanks to Nancy Morrison who made the centerpieces and kept watch over the decorations throughout the year -- this in addition to helping with everything else. 

The next event (2009) will be on December 5, 2009 in the Exhibition Hall at the Mayo Civic Center.
