The Rochester IBM Alumni Club, Inc (formerly named the IBM Rochester Retirees' Club), is a 501(C)(7) non-profit organization. The club is not part of the IBM Corporation. The club was originally established in March 1987 with it's mission to provide a forum for former Rochester IBMer's to connect and maintain friendships. While the club is primarily for people who formerly worked at IBM Rochester (Minnesota) there are several club members who worked at other IBM locations and moved to the Rochester area. So in effect, the club is open to any former IBMers. Also when an Alumni Club member passes away, the surviving spouse will continue a membership with the club. Currently, there are more than 2200 active members of the Rochester IBM Alumni Club, Inc.

The club publishes bimonthly newsletters containing news about the club and it’s members. The club sponsors social activities such as a summer picnic, Christmas party, bus trips to plays and educational sessions. Through the club, club members can also volunteer time for community services such as "Adopt a Highway",  "Salvation Army Bell Ringing", etc.

The qualification for club membership is that you must have been an IBM regular employee who leaves IBM (for any reason) and meets the following years of IBM employment and age criteria

25 years service as an IBM regular employee and currently any age
OR
5 years service as an IBM regular employee and currently 50 years of age or older

To become an active member of the club fill out and send in the membership registration form (available on the club website). The cost for a lifetime membership is $35.00.
