2018 Rochester IBM Alumni Club Hiking Events
What a great time hiking on the trails of Southeastern Minnesota!
This spring we hiked the trails of five area parks. Good weather for most of the hikes,
but rain did sprinkle down a little on the Essex Park outing. We had a good turn out for
the 5 hikes with a total 72 participating. There were several new hikers added to the core
group of regular hikers.
This fall we had 6 hikes that included 3 County parks: Oxbow, Root River and Chester Woods
and 3 Rochester Parks: Indian Heights, Essex, and Quarry Hill. Each hike had from 9 to 13
participants who enjoyed being outdoors observing nature, chatting with fellow hikers and
listening to the hike leader talking about the history of the area and observing historical
remains of early settlers such as wagon roads, homesteads, mills etc.
See the photos below from the hikes this year.
