Comment from the new Golf Event coordinators for 2020
First of all a big Thank you! goes to Bill Kleis for all the hard work he has done
over the past four years, Jim and I will do our best to keep this going at the same high level!
Bill has already done most of the heavy lifting for 2020 as he has already lined up
most of the dates. Jim and I will work to fill in the rest.
We are looking for input going forward. Please send us your thoughts on what you
like and what should be changed. What golf courses did you like and which ones do
think we should drop? Also let us know how far you think we should travel. Right
now I think Mt Frontenac is the farthest away at 48 miles.

Current plans for 2020 Golf events
Golf in 2020 will be $23.00 for golf, lunch and prizes. Cart rental will be
$7.00. If you are a member of the course, the fee will be $15, including cart.
If you choose to play a second nine after lunch, your fee will always be a good
deal, no more than the course's 18 hole special for that day/time after the $10
lunch/prize amount is deducted. (Our last event at The Jewel will cost $39 for
golf, lunch, prizes, range balls, and cart; and $19 plus tax for a second nine.)
NOTE: The golf courses will NOT accept combining specials (such as cancer card) during the IBM Alumni events. Sorry!
There will be printed schedules available in the Alumni Club office and at the course the day of the events. All events will be 9-hole shotgun events with some special contests. Golfers will be able to play "best shot" or play their own ball this year. The golf committee will do the pairings if you sign up individually, or you may sign up as a team. Lowest gross score will be recorded on each hole regardless of the format you choose.
We
will begin the year at the Bluffs at Coffee Mill near Wabasha on Monday June
8th. Please register at the retiree office on
or before 12:00 Noon on Thursday June 4th. The Alumni Club office number is

the office on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from

is the tentative schedule for this year so you can plan your summer around these dates. Again,
the deadline for registering for any golf event is Noon the Thursday prior to
